APA PsycTherapy is a database of high-quality, unscripted therapy demonstration videos.
This year, the streaming video collection is expanding tremendously. Content will increase by 50%!
In May, more than 300 videos demonstrating a range of psychotherapy approaches were added.
What’s great about these resources is that students can learn through first-hand observation, via the video medium.
“Students learn how to translate theoretical concepts into practice and different ways of handling critical incidents that can arise during treatment.”
APA expand on this is a recent blog post announcing the new content.
This database will be of interest to psychology, counselling and criminology cohorts.
The video player has features that make for easy viewing:
You can watch videos and use the search filters directly from the homepage after gaining access to the database with your ECU federated login.
To make use of the extra options available - including saving, editing and sharing new clips and playlists, first create a PscyTherapy account within the platform. This takes moments to do and then you’ll have the option to curate your own tailored video library from the content.
Note: Be sure to log in through ECU Library’s A-Z databases link before creating your own account, as you won’t be able to access content without ECU’s subscription.
If you’d like to learn more about APA PsycTherapy’s new content, please see this entry in the APA Publishing Blog.
Start watching videos by logging in through ECU Libray’s A-Z list of databases, listed under PsycTherapy.
