This NAIDOC Week (6-13 July), ECU Library joins the nation in celebrating a remarkable milestone—50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.

This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy, celebrates not only the achievements of the past, but the promise of the future—empowered by young leaders, strong communities, and the enduring legacy of First Nations peoples.

To mark the occasion, digital displays created by library staff will be showcased across the ECU library spaces to reflect on this year’s theme and mark 50 years of NAIDOC history.

In the ECU Library Collections

Library collections are rich with works that explore and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, and knowledge. Here are just a few highlights available at ECU Libraries:

Visit your campus library to explore the display and immerse yourself in the stories and voices that shape our shared history—and future.
