  • Investigating critical literacy in the upper primary years using dialogic teaching principles to explore metafictive devices in postmodern picture books

Summary of thesis:

This project aims to investigate the level of understanding upper primary classroom teachers have of dialogic teaching principles and metafictive devices found in postmodern picture books. With the intention to help provide a practical guide on how to deliver a learning environment that promotes the use of these principles and devices in order to improve the access and quality of critical thinking skills when engaging with upper primary students.
