Summary of thesis:

This qualitative case-study research aims to examine how Vietnamese primary English teachers exercise agency in the context of curriculum reform. Four teachers from different schools in one province in Vietnam were selected as the case-study teachers. Data were collected from interviews, classroom observations and documents. The findings show that the teachers exercise agency in different forms and to different degrees, and their agency plays an important role in how the curriculum is enacted.
