Summary of thesis:

To prepare students to be active and productive members of the modern and globalised world, school policy and curricula throughout much of the Western world are adapting to emphasise the development of 21st century skills. This study uses a mixed methods approach to explore the efficacy of a unique semi-immersive experiential education program being conducted at a secondary school (Perth, Western Australia) to assist in developing these skills in early adolescents.  With global acceptance of the importance and need to equip students with 21st century skills, this research presents the opportunity to make a significant and positive contribution to how these skills can be developed in early adolescents.
