Supervisors:

  • Associate Professor Nicola Johnson
  • Professor Andrew Woodward
  • Dr Lyn Vernon

Summary of thesis:

This multi-phase mixed methods research aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Bachelor of Science (cyber security) program in Australian universities, in preparing graduate students to be work ready.  The study will use human capital theory to examine work readiness, by aligning the theory with the improvement of human capital, particularly graduate cyber security workers and the positive impact this will have on the Australian economy and the current effects of cybercrime.  Through the analysis of multiple forms of data, it is proposed the research will identify what combination of skills are required including 21st century and cyber security skills, to best prepare graduates to be work ready.  This research is supported by the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC).
