  • Teachers’ approaches to spelling instruction in Western Australian schools

Summary of thesis:

This project aims to investigate the approaches teachers use to teach spelling to students in Years 4 - 6 and how the teachers’ linguistic knowledge and instructional practices are applied to inform their spelling instruction. The research is also looking at different spelling approaches selected by schools, why, how they are implemented and teachers’ perceptions of their efficacy.
