  • Indonesian TESOL returnee lecturers: An ecological and transdisciplinary identity study

Summary of thesis:

I am exploring the identity negotiation of Indonesian TESOL lecturers who have studied abroad and work in higher education institution upon their return. While their identities as returnees gives them advantages, it often clashes with the condition of Indonesian higher education institution which is influenced by globalization and neoliberalism. I am applying a digital linguistic ethnography approach and the concept of indexicality and chronotopes to explore returnee identity.
