EBSCO Information Services is one of the world’s largest providers of e-resources.

The multidisciplinary databases offer access to current, full-text scholarly resources including:

  • journals
  • academic magazines
  • eBooks
  • newspaper articles

EBSCO's goal is to provide a positive experience for all of its customers, and supports its users by conducting user research to create products that support accessibility.

In 2021 the EBSCO platform was verified by ASPIRE, the verification service for accessibility statements, with a score of 100%.

EBSCO accessibility features include:

  • text-To-Speech functionality on HTML full-text articles to better assist users who are blind or with low vision or learning disabilities
  • MP3 download available on HTML full-text articles for multi-modal learning and portability
  • descriptive page titles and alternate text for meaningful images
  • responsive user interfaces for access on all devices and screen sizes
  • headings and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) landmarks to help users using screen readers navigate user interfaces
  • minimal use of tables to ensure users can easily navigate products using a screen reader and/or keyboard
  • decreased page size for short download times for all users
