International Literacy Day places a spotlight on literacy as a human right. In 2022, the theme focuses on expanding the concept of what constitutes a literacy and learning space.
On 8 September each year the importance of literacy as a human right is promoted globally.
The theme for 2022, 'Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces', is a response to the ever-changing global context literacy initiatives operates in.
